Dr. Sandeep Basanti
Founder & Medical Director, Sorora Medical and Laser
Dr. Sandeep Basanti is a Family Medicine Physician with a focused practice in primary care dermatology and aesthetics, and the founder of Sorora Medical and Laser. She brings over 10 years of clinical experience and advanced training in skin health, combining evidence-based medicine with a philosophy of care that puts her patients’ well-being first.
Her medical career began in the Fraser Valley in 2015. In 2019, after the birth of her first child, she recognized a significant gap in access to care for common skin conditions such as skin cancers, acne, melasma, and hair loss. Motivated to bridge this gap, she pursued advanced education in dermatology and aesthetic medicine, blending medical science with modern technologies to better serve her patients.
Known for her kind and understanding approach, Dr. Basanti always prioritizes what is best for her patients. She is recognized for being conservative with treatments, choosing safety, ethics, and long-term skin health over quick fixes.
At Sorora, she has built a practice rooted in science, compassion, and inclusivity, where every client feels heard, supported, and empowered in their journey toward healthier skin and renewed confidence.

Dr. Sandeep Basanti
Sorora Medical and Laser was founded by Dr. Sandeep Basanti, an engaging and multi-faceted General Practitioner with 6+ years of industry experience, paired with recent education and experience in an array of primary care skin conditions. She started her career in the Fraser Valley in 2015. In 2019, after the birth of her first child, she noticed a significant gap in the care that Fraser Valley residents were experiencing for skin pathology services, including quite common skin conditions such as skin cancers, acne, and hair loss. That’s when she decided to do more intensive training in skin-related illnesses. She completed her postgraduate diploma in practical dermatology from Cardiff University in 2020 and shortly after finished a certificate program in dermoscopy (the use of magnification to assess moles/skin conditions).
She next began to notice the significant impact that skin conditions were having on her patients and indeed started to note her own skin aging and changing. She wanted to create a safe and open environment for any person struggling with their skin and confidence.
