Moxi™
The Moxi™ laser is a popular choice among our patients due to its 1927 nm wavelength, which is ideal for pre-juvenation and maintaining the skin’s appearance. As a non-ablative laser, it is well tolerated with minimal pain and associated with very little downtime.
One of the primary uses for the Moxi™ laser is to address melasma, a condition that can be frustrating due to its tendency to reappear. Moxi™ is a safer alternative to hydroquinone-based creams and can be used regularly for maintenance. We typically recommend a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6 months to 1 year.
In addition to treating melasma, Moxi™ can also improve pigmentation issues (including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to acne), sun damage, uneven skin tone, texture, and signs of aging. Moxi™ is suitable for all skin types, including those with darker skin tones.
Unlike some other laser treatments, Moxi™ can be used year-round and on a variety of skin surfaces, including the back and arms. It’s an effective treatment for pigment issues caused by acne scarring, which can occur on the neck, back, and face.

BEFORE the treatment
- Nothing special needs to be done.
DURING the treatment
- The procedure takes anywhere between 15-30 minutes depending on the area needing to be treated. There is some discomfort associated with the procedure and feels like a gentle rubber band against the skin – we do make the procedure as comfortable as possible; thus, continued communication is key.
AFTER the treatment
- After the treatment, you will be mildly red and feel some burning sensation for around 1 hour. You can wear makeup the next day – you will begin noticing the benefits of the laser treatment within 1-2 weeks.
