Neuromodulators are used increasingly for nasal lines (bunny lines), DAOs (lessens the sad smile lines on the chin), mentalis (orange peel look on the chin), platysmal bands (necklines), lip flip (relaxes the upper lip so that it gives the look of a larger upper lip), gummy smile.

BEFORE the treatment
- Try to avoid things that will thin your blood for a couple of days (these lead to increased bruising):
- Alcohol
- Anti-inflammatory medications (Tylenol is okay for pain but avoid ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil, Midol etc. (these are non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) and will thin your blood and lead to more bruising)
- Garlic and garlic-based natural supplements
DURING the treatment
- Sit back, relax and remember to tell us if there is any way we can make the procedure more comfortable (vibration, ice… and mini breaks if needed).
AFTER the treatment
- Following a neuromodulator injection, it’s important to avoid exercise for 24 hours as recommended by your doctor. Exercise increases blood flow and blood pressure, which can potentially cause irritation to the injection areas and also cause migration of the neurotoxin to unintended areas. Similarly, it’s best to avoid lying down for 4 hours after the injection to prevent product migration.
- The duration of the results varies depending on the type of neuromodulator used and how animated your facial muscles are but typically lasts between 3-6 months.
